Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition protested and walked out of the assembly on Monday, alleged that the government was not serious about thousands of students who left without getting a chair plus, even after they got a A-plus score in all subjects.
Government guarantees that it will ensure seats for all students, are not enough to calm opposition members.
Increasing this issue as a submission, opposition leader V D Sathean said that despite causing problems in the assembly three times, the government adheres to the same stereotypical answers using several numbers.
“More than 10,000 students were abandoned without seats to plus one even after the second highliness settlement,” he said.
He said that the minister had previously claimed that 33,119 seats would be empty in the state.
If that, how more than 10,000 students were left without chairs given to them, he asked.
He added that the government’s attitude seems that students must go to private institutions, management seats or open schools.
Replying to opposition claims, the Minister of General Education V Sivankutty said that the opposition has brought a problem with political motives.
