New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Canada JUSTIN Trudeau’s colleagues about his election victory, and said he hoped to continue working with him to further strengthen Indian-Canadian relations.
Trudeau secured victory in parliamentary elections but failed to get the majority he wanted.
He, however, leads a strong minority government that will not be dropped by opposition in the near future.
Modi tweeted, “Congratulations on the Prime Minister @justintudeau about your victory in the election! I hope to continue working with you to further strengthen Indian-Canadian relations, as well as our cooperation about global and multilateral problems.”
