Mumbai: Lata singer Mangeshkar surrendered to septic shock with a multi-orgate failure at the Permen Breach Hospital on Sunday morning after fighting Covid-19 and related complications for 29 days.
The team of doctors from Brid Candy, who was present at the funeral in Shivaji Park, personally thanked PM Narendra Modi for treating him.
The 92-year-old singer was hospitalized on January 9, two days after he had tested the coronavirus positive at home.
He was suggested hospitalized because he had developed covid pneumonia.
When his condition deteriorated, he must be placed on non-invasive ventilators and finally on mechanical ventilators.
But after a few days, his condition showed an increase and he was exagged (taken from a mechanical ventilator) on January 27.
But his turn condition was worse once again and he returned to the ventilator a few days ago.
The singer also has existing diseases before, including diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
N Santhanam, CEO of Canden Breach Hospital, said Dr.
Pratit Samdani and a team consisting of three residents’ doctors cared for him.
“Other specialists also speed to treat complications,” he said.
Dr.
Samdani, who has been a three-year Mangeshkar family doctor, said it was a “personal loss”.
The hospital source said he was surrounded by family members and loved ones during his last hours.
His sister Usha Mangeshkar, Brother Hridaynath and their children were present at his death.
