Veraval: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and put the stone foundation for four projects, worth RS 83 Crore, from the famous Somnath Temple in Gujarat on August 20, the temple authorities said on Monday.
PM is the chairman of Shree Somnath Trust (SST) who manages the world-famous temple affairs located in the city of Prabhas Patan in the Gir-Somnath district.
“PM Modi will inaugurate three projects and also conducts a virtual land solving ceremony for Parvati Temple which comes near the main temple for RS 30 Crore,” SST WALI Minister Cum Secretary P K K K K Laheri told reporters.
He said the event would be held at the Mandir Auditorium from the Temple on August 20.
“While PM will inaugurate and make land solving for four projects virtually, Home Saran Minister Amit Shah, who will become a guardian, join also through video conferencing,” said Laheri.
Chief Minister Gujarat Vijay Kupani and other officials will attend the program in the auditorium.
Three projects that will be inaugurated include one km “Samudra Darshan” trail which was built at a cost of Rs 49 Crore on the beach behind the temple, a newly built museum of ancient residential artifacts built near the temple at Rs 75 Lakh, and “Ahilybai Holkar Temple “The renovated or Somnath Temple has been opposed to the main temple, he said.
Renovation has been carried out at RS 3.5 Crore, he added.
