Warsaw: Poland reported a record of 57,659 new Daily Covid-19 infections on Thursday, the Ministry of Health said, as held by the Omicron variant.
Authorities say the latest waves will push the case number to a level that has not been seen in Poland, with peak estimates ranging from 60,000 to 140,000 daily infections.
Older elementary school students and secondary school students will move to long distance learning on Thursday, the previous Ministry of Education said in a week.
The government has other limited limits, including wearing masks in closed public spaces, but they are not strictly enforced.
Poland, a country around 38 million people, has so far reported 4,695,435 cases of Covid-19 and 104,636 deaths.
More than 1 million were quarantined, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
