Rajkot: Sleuth Branch Crime damages gambling in a hotel and also arrested 10 people involved in illegal activities on Wednesday.
According to the police, at the order of the hotel manager, who supplied aadhaar card from someone who was not present at the hotel, the receptionist allowed all 10 people to gather in a room.
The police have confiscated 10.24 lakh cash from the hotel room, 13 cellphone handsets worth Rs 4.93 lakh along with two SUVs worth Rs 20 lakh from the defendant.
The main gambler, Narendrasinh Jadeja (33), a population of Lodhika and the country’s offerings have masterminded the clandestine operation after asking the hotel manager, John Kuria Kosh to give them a room.
Overcoming Media, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1, Praveen Kumar said, “Narendrasinh asked the Kosh manager to give them a room, which he conveyed to the receptionist Preeta Patel to provide.
Kosh then sent an aadhaar card email from one Sohil Kothiya, a resident of Jamnagar Not present there, to the receptionist to record the hotel.
“According to the police, the receptionist handed the room lock to Vipul Bechra, the others were accused even though proof of identity was not suitable.
The age of Kothiya as shown in proof of ID is 22, while the BECHRA is 45 years old.
The receptionist failed to verify his identity before handing over the key, the police said.
Police arrested Narendrasinh Jadeja (33), Manish Sondagar (40), Vipul Bechra (45), Rasik Bhalodiya (43), Rajan Mehta (43), Bharat Dalsaniya (42), Karan Parmar (33), Kamlesh Plain (53), Arvind Faldu (41) and Pradeep Chavda (29).
Except for two accused, some of which were accused of having a factory in Morbi, while some others were involved in real estate and other businesses.
The Kosh Hotel manager was still large and the receptionist had not been arrested, but given a notice to explain his actions, police said.
