Chatra: A police official died after his clothes caught fire when he cooked his government at the Chatra police line campus on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Pradeep Kumar Das (40), which originated from Madhupur District Deoghar.
On Sunday, he rushed to the nearest hospital where the doctors claimed he was taken dead.
The source said that he had not saved it well for some time and that he might have fallen on the stove while cooking, which resulted in his burning clothes.
SDO Avinash Kumar said it was an unintentional death but the police were waiting for the post mortem to arrive.
On Monday, SP Rakesh Ranjan and other officials visited the police line and gave their respect before sending his body to his home village.
