Mysuru: Police Nanjangud had arrested a couple from Gundlupet on charges of deceiving a woman from Nanjangud to give the gold chain promising a loan.
The defendant was a resident of Hangala Village and Bhagya.
With their arrest, three cases were solved, said V Govindaraj, DSP, Nanjuud Sub-Division.
Shivamani Mothhha Village was cheated from its golden goods with the pretext of providing a gold loan RS 2 lakh by a partner.
The incident occurred on January 25, and they were arrested on the same night, DSP said, adding Prasad recently came out with a guarantee in the case of cheating.
The police said this was not the first time Prasad and Bhagya was cheating villagers on behalf of gold loans.
Prasad previously worked in a gold company that offered loans on valuable items that were guaranteed.
When he knew all the process of gold loans, he took advantage of his knowledge to deceive the villagers, police said.
