Beijing: Police in Wuhan, China, said that they were looking for a man who killed seven people then jumped from the bridge in the city.
The suspect, Surnamed Gao, 39, killed five families and two more people while running away, Wuhan police said in a statement on Tuesday.
Gao visited the house of a man whose last name was Zhang, in a village near Wuhan, on Sunday night, local media reported.
Zhang serves a temporary secretary of the village communist party, and the man claims to have several businesses he needs to be determined.
Zhang and his wife were found dead at the scene, along with their daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
One child found on the scene was still breathing and sent to the hospital, local media reported.
The man then killed a pedestrian and driver, whose car he stole to escape.
The suspect escaped until he reached the bridge on the Yangtze River bridge and jumped from the bridge early on Monday morning, police said.
