Patna: Rozina Nazh, the widow of the former MLC Tanweer Akhtar, will be a candidate for NDA for the election with a blank seat in the Bihar Legislative Council, as the ruler of JD (U), constituent NDA, on Tuesday declared its official candidate.
“Rozina Nazhish has been declared the official candidate JD (U) for the selection of by-election to a single seat in the Bihar Legislative Council,” JD (U) State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha said here on Tuesday.
Opposition parties have not declared their candidates for the election of the council, to be held on October 4, if more than one candidate remains in the contest.
Contacted by telephone, Nazhish told Tii on Tuesday that he would apply for his nomination paper around 11am on September 22 (Wednesday), the last day for nominating archiving.
Nomination supervision will be held on September 23, while the last date for the withdrawal of candidates is September 27.
“Nazhish will submit his letters as candidates for JD (U), but he will become a candidate for all NDA constituents.
The important leaders of the four Constituents NDA will be present during the submission of nominated papers by Nazhish,” Kushwaha told Tii on Tuesday.
He said, CM Nith Kumar will also be present during paper filing with Nazhish.
The selection of by-election to one chair council must be after the death of JD (U) sits MLC Tanweer Akhtar.
Serving as a culture of JD (U) Minority cells, Tanweer died of Covid-19 in a government hospital in Patna on May 8 this year.
As a native population of Town style, Tanweer was elected as President of the JNU Union in 1991 as NUsi’s nomination, the wing of Congress students.
He also served as President of the Youth Congress in Bihar.
Tanweer was first chosen to the Bihar Legislative Council as a Congress candidate in July 2016.
Then, he along with three other MLC congresses, led by former BPCC Ashok Choudhary head, causing divisions in the Congress legislative party on the council.
A few days later, the fourth MLC joined the JD (U) decision in March 2018.
The term Tanweer as MLC will be completed on July 21, 2022.
