Lucknow: BSP on Monday announced the name of 61 candidates for the fifth phase of the General Election, giving tickets to 18 Brahmin in this phase.
It also replaces four candidates for the third and fourth phase.
Senior party members said that the fifth phase was very dominated by the top caste.
“There are 25 top caste candidates on the list, which is almost 41% of the total candidate for this phase.
This includes 18 brahmins.
In addition, there are 15 candidates SC, 11 OBC and nine Muslims,” he said.
Party sources show that the high number of caste top, the highest so far in each phase for candidates has been declared so far, is the effort to balance the caste equation.
“In the first two phases and then the fourth, depending on the division, a large number of candidates from the minority community have been reduced.
At the fifth phase, the election will move to areas such as Ayodhya, Prasagraj etc.

Meanwhile, the party also replaced four candidates from the third and fourth phase.
According to the new list, Mohammad Arif is a new candidate from KasGanj while Shan-e Ali is a candidate from Pilibhit.
Ali was the son of a former minister in the government of the Jamajwadi Party, the deceased Haji Riyaz Ahmed.
Ali was reported to have searched for a ticket from SP but the chair was given to Doctor Shailendra Gangwar instead.
After that he shifted to BSP and had been derived from Pilibhit.

Ra Usmani is a new candidate for BSP from Nighation.
USMANI is the president of Pasmanda Samaj and is a member of BSP until 2006.
He then moved to SP but repeatedly denied tickets.
This year, he finally moved back to BSP and was successfully established from the Nighation.
The last change was in the caste, the chair ordered, from where Hemwati Raj was a new candidate.
