Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has served shows notices to contractors who manage the Corporation City (STP) waste treatment plant in Pachanady in Pachanady to let the underground drainage flow (UGD) untreated to storm waterways.

The Commissioner said that the team visited STP and collected water samples from the Phalguni River.
“Found during the inspection that M / S Envirotech Company Limited contractors have allowed the UGD water flow that was not treated in storm waterways.
Based on inspection and video recording in complaints, the notification of the cause of the show has been served to the contractor who is looking for answers within 24 hours why criminal cases may not be ordered under water conditions (pollution prevention and control) acting, “said Commissioner.
He also directed officials to install CCTV cameras in that place.
Officials are also asked to visit STP regularly to stop such problems in the future.
“A technical report has been prepared through the National Institute of Technology Karnataka to find a permanent solution for this problem.
Meanwhile, the proposal to take work with the estimated cost of Rs 2.47 Crore has been submitted to the government,” he added.
