Gurgaon: After light rain, city air quality on Thursday increased for ‘poor’ categories after watching six days ‘very poor’.
The whole AQI level was recorded at 224, significantly better than 326 the previous day.
According to IMD officials, air quality is likely to increase further by increasing the speed of wind and rain predicted for the next few days.
“Lightly intermittent rain on Wednesdays and a good wind has cleaned the air around.
As shown in the rain well together with strong winds in the next 2-3 days, it will be increasingly settled pollutants and AQIs can increase to the moderate category in the coming days,” said imd official.
Two of the four monitoring stations in the city, including GWALPahari and Sector 51 recorded AQI in the poor category with 280 and 225 readings, while AQI was recorded in the medium rate in 160.
