Melbourne: Australia All-Rounder Glenn Maxwell on Wednesday became the latest Cricketer from Big Bash League to test positive Covid-19.
Maxwell, who is the Captain of the Melbourne star at the BBL, became the 13th player of the franchise to test the positive virus.
Maxwell’s positive test was confirmed on Wednesday morning through a quick antigen test that he had taken to follow the Melbourne derby with Renegades on Monday, Cricket.com.au reported.
He also underwent a PCR test and is currently waiting for the results.
Meanwhile, Spurt in the Covid-19 case on the BBL continued with the rebels to the fifth club to report a positive case.
Three other BBL clubs have reported a positive case of Covid-19.
On Tuesday, Heat Brisbane was forced to withdraw from their match against Sydney Sixers scheduled for Wednesday.
Fixture has been postponed.
