Kolkata: Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was found to have malaria on Sunday.
Dhankhar has been in Darjeeling from October 12 as part of a 2-week visit to North Bengal.
He had a fever while on the hills and it was advised to take a blood test.
The source said the Governor wanted to go to Delhi for his health and reach the capital on Friday.
He underwent a blood test on Saturday.
Dhankhar currently lives in Banga Bhavan, where the doctor stores a watch close to him and says he is stable.
They are not clear, however, about whether the governor has contracted a disease in Delhi or Darjeeling.
