Paris: French Prime Minister tested the positive Covid-19 on Monday, after returning from a visit to the neighboring Belgium and the same as France saw the revival of national infections, according to his office.
Prime Minister of France Jean Castex will adjust the schedule for the next 10 days to continue his activities in isolation, his office said.
Officials at the Prime Minister’s head office did not comment on whether Castex had viral symptoms.
One of the princesses Castex tested positive Monday after his father returned from a meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo in Brussels, and Castex himself then took two tests that were equally positive, his office said.
The De Croo office said he would be tested on Tuesday and would isolate himself while waiting for the results, according to Brancaster Brancaster RTBF Belgium.
While the 75% French population is vaccinated, the number of virus infections has increased rapidly in recent weeks.
Inpatient and death related to the virus also rose in France, although far below the previous surge crisis level.
French President Emmanuel Macron was contracted by Covid-19 last December, and other government ministers also had a virus.
