Madurai: The post department has convinced to make all customer related forms available in Tamil and English.
Head of Postmaster General Tamil Nadu Circle B Selvakumar has provided this guarantee to Madurai MP Su Venkatsan directly on Wednesday.
It was a response to MP member letters to the general postmaster head that the form was only available in English and Hindi.
MP has shown that forms like existing for orders and small savings schemes are available in two languages above only, making it difficult for ordinary people who are comfortable only in Tamil.
“Suitable instructions have been issued for officers concerned to get all customer-related forms at the Post Office, namely.
Schemat Savings Post, Wesel, and others printed in Tamil and English (bilingual) and immediately distribute it to all post offices in the Nadu Circle Tamil, “said Selvakumar in the letter.
Venkatessan said the top officials in the post department in the state have assured to make a form related to the exchange of money and savings schemes that are widely available in all 14,000 post offices in Tamil Nadu in the next two weeks.
The official convinced that nearly 40 other forms would also be printed and sent to all post offices within a month.
MP thanks the post department for immediate action.
