Chennai: No Great Beneficiaries from Pradhan Mantri Beware of Yojana (Gramin) in Tamil Nadu is expected to receive land in the next two months.
The state government has established a special assignment unit of four members (STF) to accelerate the identification and distribution of land for non-landed beneficiaries of the scheme, according to senior officials in rural development and the Pancrayat Department Raj.
“During the period, the number of unscrupulous recipients violated 45,000 in the state,” the official said.
Secretary of the Union of the Ministry of Rural Development, in a letter dated April 9, 2021, showed that the delay in providing land to the recipient of an unclean benefit as “one of the main reasons for the slow PMAY (G) scheme”.
Because this program is tied to time and is implemented with the purpose of ‘housing for all in 2022’, the union ministry has asked the state government to accelerate the process of providing land for beneficiaries that do not have land in accordance with the provisions of the scheme.
Following the recommendations of the Ministry of Union, the state government has formed STF, said the main rural secretary and Pancrayat Raj K gopal in commands issued on Monday.
He will become vice chairman of the task force, while the principal secretary of the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management will lead the task force as chairman.
Commissioner of the Land Administration and Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj will be members and organizers.
On Tuesday, Minister of Man Chief M K Stalin submitted a welfare scheme with a 1,597 crore Rs tone, including a house built under PMAY (G), up to 12,093 beneficiaries.
This scheme was carried out by rural development and the department of Raj Pancayat.
