Coimbatore: More than 70 members of the Tamil Nadu Elementary School Federation (TNPTF) held a sit-in at the Coimbatore Cloth Product Association Girls’ Secondary School at King Street here on Tuesday, demanding the Department of School Education to appoint the headmaster of four government elementary schools in district.
Protests took place at school during a transfer counseling that the school education department was held for the government elementary school principal that day.
Protesters demanded the school education department to fill the old principal loscancer waiting in the four elementary schools and Iob Colony Panchayat Union Union Union in the Thondaamuthur Block functioning without the Principal for more than four years.
“We have made several representations to the officials of the school education department in the past four years, but it did not work “Thangabasu said.
Following protests, Head of Education Head N Geetha held talks with teachers and convinced to appoint the principal to the earliest four schools.
The teachers, then, draw protests.
