Priority Corridor Metro Kanpur certified as a green system

Times News Network Kanpur: Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) – One of the Bodies of Apex in India to assess (silver, gold & platinum) and stated the system as a ‘green’ system ‘- a certified part of the Kanpur metro priority as a’ Green Metro Rail System ‘.
IGBC has provided a platinum assessment certificate to all nine metro stations from the priority parts built between IIT and Motijheel.
The Platinum ranking certificate has been submitted to Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC), during the event at the UPMRC office in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow on Thursday.
The Indian Industrial Confederation (CII) and IGBC have conducted a joint survey in December, after most of the Platinum rankings have been given to nine Kanpur Metro priority stations.
Revealing happiness, Kumar Keshav, said, “We make provisions at the design stage itself that the Metro place must be fully environmentally friendly and ready for energy conservation.
From rainwater harvest to energy conservation; UPMRC is dedicated to ensure all the settings needed for environmental management.
Towards the goal of giving a clean and green metro system to people, the UPMRC has reached another milestone and what I congratulate me.
The priority part of Kanpur Metro has received ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for safety management.
“UPMRC has been Planting more than 10,000 plants and puppies in various locations along the priority section of Kanpur Metro and translocating more than 100 trees.
It has made arrangements to collect rainwater fall on the roof of the station and Viaduct.
In addition, 100% use LED lighting (in depots, stations and other Metro places), the maximum use of day lighting, effective waste management and other green initiatives have been taken to save energy.
