Prayagraj: The panel of the preparation of the Congress Party manifesto, led by former Minister of Union and Senior Congress Salman Khurshid, visited the city on Saturday.
Khurshid said that Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was a party leader and face for the upcoming polls.
The Congress will oppose the assembly selection under his leadership, he added.
When asked whether Priyanka would be the party’s ministerial candidate, Khurshid said he himself would make a decision about the problem.
Khurshid led the delegation of Congress leaders in the city of Sangam on Friday with the aim of interacting with people and leaders of the Frontal Congress organization before the party prepared and released Manifesto for assembly selection-2022.
Delegates include the National Secretary of all Indian Congress Committee, Bajirao Khande, a member of the Pramod Tiwari Congress Work Committee and former MLA Anugrah Narayan Singh, among others,.
Overcoming media people at the guest house in Locality Kalyani Devi, Khurshid said, “Congress will write a new chapter of success in polls 2022, and will win more seats than expected.” Sticked hard on the country led by BJP and the central government, Khurshid said that people were cheated.
“Unemployment is rising and atrocities against minorities have often occurred in the state,” he said.
Hopefully the Congress will conduct elections in considering the needs and aspirations of the people, Khurshid said that his interaction with various parts of the community had helped him understand their expectations and complaints.
The interaction has also explained that ordinary people are angry with BJP in power, he added.
Speaking of several political parties who tried to seduce certain caste members, Khurshid said that Congress did not believe in caste politics and religion-based, and vice versa, trying to visit slums, interact with the poor and farmers to understand their problems so that their aspirations can find a place in Manifesto Congress.
Previously, Khurshid arrived at Bamrauli airport on Saturday and went straight to the slum near Bakshi Bandh in Daraganj.
There, he and other senior Congress leaders interact with the population and ask about their problems, challenges and hopes.
He and his team also spoke to farmers, traders, women and students during their stay at Kalyani Devi.
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said that it was Congress who really worked for Dalit and Downtrodden.
“The middle class and poor people suffer today, and the powerful BJP does not have the answer to the increase in the cost and suffering of the community,” he added.
