Albany: The legislative investigation released Monday found “extraordinary evidence” that the former Governor Andrew Cuomo was involved in sexual harassment and ordered state workers to help produce the hours during business hours.
The report also found that the executive room of Cuomo “substantially revised” a state report to exclude the death of the population of nursing homes in hospitals to improve the reputation of Cuomo.
In March, the Judicial Committee of the Assembly hired a Manhattan law firm, Davis Polk & Wardwell, to investigate whether there was a reason to spur Cuomo.
Cuomo, a Democrat, resigned in August to avoid impeachment trials that might occur after other investigations found him sexually harassed at least 11 women.
The investigation was led by two independent lawyers chosen by the Negeri General Lingitia James, also a Democrat.
Assembly investigators say they review that investigations of sexual harassment, as well as about 600.00 pages of documents are collected by Davis Polk which ranges from photos to email to telephone call recording to video recording.
Davis Polk Investigator did not interview Cuomo who gave a written submission.
Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi, and lawyer, Rita Glavin, did not immediately respond to the request to comment on legislative investigations.
Cuomo denied that he had intended to touch anyone inappropriately and said he had never intended to make anyone uncomfortable with sexual comments.
Cuomo has flat-out denied several accusations, including the executive assistant claim that he fumbled his breasts at the Governor’s official residence, executive mansion, last winter.
Cuomo demanded that the assembly researchers submit all their evidence to him, but the Judicial Committee member said that Cuomo was not entitled to the evidence.
“In the face of the Impeachment trial, the former governor chose to resign, not to oppose the available evidence and faced witnesses in the legal forum,” said the report on Monday.
“Having a lack of opportunity, he is not entitled to further production of this committee.” Cuomo often released a statement that promised cooperation with assembly investigations, but sympathizers said he only produced limited documents for almost six months.
“Even so, in a short time the former Governor fulfills the committee’s request or working with his investigation,” reports his report.
