Vadodara / Anand: Professor Ramesh Makwana from the Department of Sociology Vallabh Vidyanagar, Sardar Patel University (SPU) has been chosen to the Sociological All Indian Management Committee (AISS), the only association of Professor Sociology in this country.
AISS has 7,000 members consisting of professors and researchers from various universities and colleges throughout the country.
The election for managing committee members is held every two years.
The election for five seats in the Managing Committee was stated on November 7 total 16 professors from all over India including Makwana had submitted a nomination.
Makwana who secured 614 votes was chosen as one of five members on December 20.
Professor has completed six research projects of the University grant commission and wrote 20 books.
He has managed to guide 45 PHD research titles and 58 mphil.
He has received the Award Dr.
Babasaheb Ambedku together with RS 1 Lakh for his work on the empowerment of Sarpanches female from the Gujarat government.
