Stockholm: Sweden cartooner Lars Vilks, who lived under the protection of the police after the depiction of the Prophet Muhammad pushed the threat of death, died on Sunday in a car accident.
The 75-year-old player and two police officers were killed in a collision with the upcoming truck, Swedish police confirmed to AFP.
“This is being investigated like an accident on another road.
Because two policemen involved, the investigation has been assigned to a special part of the prosecutor’s office,” said a police spokesman told AFP, added that there was no suspicion of playing cheating.
The accident occurred near the small town of Markyd when the traveling car vilks crashed into the upcoming truck.
Both vehicles were burned and the truck driver was hospitalized, according to the police.
In a statement, the police said the cause of the accident was unclear.
