Protest for late road repairs

MySuru: The MySuru City Corporation faced criticism because of his failure to repair damaged roads in the city even though some protested various organizations and residents about the streets ridden by Pothole.
City streets were severely damaged due to unrelenting rain which was fulfilled in October last year.
Mysuru Pragnavantha Vedike Activist recently protested the Civic body because it failed to repair a damaged road.
The protesters accused that the death of motorcyclists near Rama Mandira on Jalan Kantharaja Urs was caused by a big crater on the road.
After the problem was discussed several times at the MCC Board meeting, the Mayor of Sunani Palanetra had appealed to the state government to provide a Hospital 50 Crore grant.
The Chairman of the Minister of Balasavaraj Bommai has also agreed to release Rs 25 Crore in the first phase and was asked to prepare an action plan.
Sunana told Ti that some Canporators urged deputy commissioners to stop the action plan to repair the road under the grant released by the government that accused the disparity in the division of senior funds intervened by senior politicians.
“People, especially senior citizens suffer the most because of bad roads.
Now, there is an unnecessary opposition for the good job that I have planned for the city.
I returned to ask for CM to provide funds to take improvement in all wards,” he said.
Almost all roads in the city have been severely damaged and have become a nightmare for passengers.
Commissioner MCC G Lakshmikanth Reddy told the Toi that the work would be taken in all 65 wards.
“The tender has been called for all 65 wards and tenders has been approved at 58 wards.
Working to begin immediately.
Each ward will get Rs 10 lakh for road repairs,” he said.
