Psychologists get 6 years of RI to abuse minor

ThiruvananThapuram: Clinical psychologists and television presenter on mental health problems, Dr.
K GireSh, 58, on Saturday was sentenced to a tight prison sentence for six years and paid a penalty of Rs 1 Lakh after he was found guilty of sexual attacks of the year during the counseling session .
Orders have been issued by the Special Fast Track Court (Pocso) Judge R Jayakrishnan.
The judge has also argued that the default in paying a penalty will result in an extension of a sentence of up to six months in a tight prison sentence.
If paid, the amount must be given to the victim.
This case was related to the sexual atrocity faced by a boy at the defendant’s clinic located in the basement of his residence on August 14, 2017.
In accordance with his complaint, the defendant asked the parents from the boy to wait outside the clinic on behalf of personal consultation and then sexually abuse the child.
On the way home, the boy told the problem of parents, which in turn approached the authorities of children in the district and filed a complaint in front of the police.
The doctor fled after the police registered the case.
He was arrested in February 2019.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office R S Vijay Mohan said the atrocities were carried out when the boy’s parents took him to the doctor to overcome his learning disabilities.
The boy’s class teacher noticed that the boy was slow in his studies and sent him to the school counselor, which after several sessions, advised his parents to take him to the doctor for expert consultations.
He advised a doctor to parents when he had done several counseling sessions for students at school before.
The judge adheres to the command that the victim, who was only a class VIII student, approached the doctor to solve misery, he was experiencing, but he faced a greater misery of the defendant, worsen the trauma that had been faced by the boy.
Therefore, the defendant did not deserve a sentence on the sentence.
In addition, GireSh, who is the Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Ministry of Health, is accused of other sexual abuse cases from a 12-year-old boy.
The trial in the case will begin next month.
