Patna: Minister of Health Pandey Mangal on Tuesday said the presence of the Polio virus in neighboring countries was a matter of awareness of India.
“As long as the polio infection continues anywhere in the world, there is a possibility that the virus returns to the country,” he added.
The minister said the Ministry of Health has initiated several steps to conduct a polio national immunization campaign from January 23 to 27 success in the state.
Pandey said that since January 26 will be celebrated as the Republican Day, the campaign can be extended one day at the local level according to convenience.
“The drive will be done by following the Covid security protocol.
Efforts will be made to achieve 100% coverage during the campaign.
By 2020, 84 polio patients were found in Pakistan and 56 in Afghanistan.

The Minister added it was necessary to conduct high-quality pulse polio campaigns to prevent infection.
“All district judges have been asked to meet the district assignment unit 10 days before the start of the campaign to review the preparation and take appropriate action to maintain the quality of work.
At the block level, BDO and CDPO have been asked to ensure the availability of anti-polio vaccines in sufficient quantities, “Pandey said.
