Pune: Five visitors, who came to pay for the commemoration of the Koregaon Bhima to mark the 204th anniversary of the Battle of Koregaon Bhima on Saturday, tested Covid Positive, said Ayush Prasad, Chief Executive Zilla Parishad.
“We have tested 5,765 visitors until 5pm at that place.
From them, five have tested positive Covid.
Two of them came from Nashik and Three District of Pune District.
They are asymptomatic and have been received in different hospitals in the district, “said Prasad.
Rajesh Deshmukh District collector told Ti that the visitors were peaceful.
About four Lakh visitors pay homage in “Vijaystambh” (victory pillar), said police supervisor, Abhinav Deshmukh.
“We have taken all the security steps and installed the camera at Vantage points to cover the area inside and around the pillar to oversee activities.
There are no unwanted incidents or movements on the site.

On Saturday afternoon, Deshmukh collector, who had many meetings with various agents and departments in the past two weeks, took stock situations.
Collectors, along with other senior officials, even traveling with PMPML buses on Saturday afternoon and interacting with fellow passengers to get their feedback about arrangements in the village.
Deshmukh said, “Considering a big meeting, we have made all possible settings on the location.
We have received positive feedback from the people on it.
We have gave extra attention to parking for vehicles and transportation services from the parking area to the pillar site.
Also, we make sure to move visitors from a place to prevent meetings.
