Pune: City airports have secured 81st ranked in the International Council airport survey of the quality of airport services (ASQ) in the fourth quarter (October to December) last year.
The airport has secured the 78th place in the third quarter (July to September).
Slip is in the ranking under the category of ‘the best airports based on size’ and airport sub-categories ‘with passenger traffic of 5 million to 15 million passengers per year in the Asia Pacific region’, coming when traveling at its peak because of the celebration season.
Of the 33 parameters, where the sign provided to the airport, the facility received fewer signs in 28 of them compared to the third quarter survey, producing the next rank slip.
In basic parameters such as courtesy and assistance airport staff, restaurant / dining facilities, shopping facilities, business lounges, waiting comfort, bathroom cleanliness, terminal hygiene, waiting time at check-in and security checks, among others airport marks have come down.
“I traveled for a vacation to Delhi during the last year’s last chaos at the airport it was unspeakable.
The authorities and CISF personnel could not manage the crowd.
I did not blame them because of exposing the fact that the airport desperately needed a larger building,” said Ritu Madhur Sinha, said a balewadi resident.
With the number of Covid cases that go down, traveling for holidays is expected to rise soon.
“I am sure the airport will begin to witness a lot of people and the same handling will be difficult for the authorities.
The crowd factor produces all the suffering facilities,” another leaflet was booked for a trip to Goa in March, said.
While the new terminal building is being built, this project is only expected to be completed in January next year.
“The food court disappeared about two years ago and the room was still empty.
There are often many cases of rescheduling / flight cancellation even though there are bookings, which are made almost a month back,” said another Kailash Mandve Flyer.
Airport officials said that many tenders had floated for opening food stalls.
“Some flights are being canceled or rescheduled mainly because of lack of passengers.
The airline has been told to notify the leaflets about such cases before,” said an airport official to Ti.
