Pune: The civil hospital throughout Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad will have 28 new oxygen generators immediately to strengthen the availability of oxygen in this district.
At present, a total of 37 oxygen generation factories function with a combined capacity of 35 metric tons.
Of these, Pune Rural has 22 factories, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has 12 and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has three.
With the addition of 28 new factories, the district oxygen generator capacity will increase to a 70-plus metric ton.
Sanjeev Wavare, assistant medical officer, PMC, told TII, “We have installed around 12 medical oxygen generation factories throughout civil hospitals and six more proposed.
