Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to close the Covid Civic treatment center in the next few days, given the decline in the number of daily cases and active cases.
Last month, PMC had established five centers across civilian boundaries, for patients without symptoms and those who had mild symptoms.
Authorities say the centers will remain closed for now, but they will reopen if the case count rises.
However, the Civic administration said that the Swab collection center would continue to function.
At present, around 14 Swab collection centers are operating.
An official from the Nagar Road-WadgaSheri office said, “Covid care center operates in the Kharadi area.
The reception to the center has diminished in the past two weeks.
Patients treated at facilities have been sent home.
We will close the center in the next few days.” PMC has been Start one center in every civil zone.
“During a recent surge, most patients preferred home isolation due to mild symptoms.

The staff deployed in Covid centers and other facilities have been told to join their original departments and assignments.
Covid related works are now being handled by staff from the Ministry of Health and Environmental offices, the authorities said.
Sanjeev Wavre, assistant medical chairman at PMC, said, “We continue to function swab collection centers.
Residents are affected by testing if symptoms occur,” he added.
