Pune: The ‘Diwali Chisel’ program – Morning music concert held during Diwali – has been permitted in the city this year because of the number of Covid-19 infections declined, deputy head of Maharashtra Minister Ajit Pawar said on Friday.
The Diwali Herita Program (‘Paharat’ means Fajar in Marathi) is popular in Pune but cannot be arranged last year due to covid-19 restrictions.
Speaking to reporters here after a review meeting about Pandemi, Pawar said the decision about allowing 100 percent of residence in the drama cinema, the cinema and auditorium will be taken after taking stock of the post situation Diwali.
Auditorium, theater and cinema room are allowed to reopen with 50 percent residential from Friday.
Pune City recorded zero death from Koronavirus infection in the last two days.
“I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and everyone who works to achieve a dose of vaccination 100 crore.
In Maharashtra, we have given more than 10 doses of crore when in a 1.17 crore vaccine dose have been given,” said Pawar.
During a review meeting, several public representatives demanded that the programs diwali Pahaat be allowed as Covid-19 cases and death were declining and administration approved the request, he said.
