Pune: Two men on motorbikes seize a gold chain of a 23-year-old interior designer and return, a few moments after he raised the alarm, to take his cellphone too close to the Phata Kalewadi around 4am on Tuesday.
Duo, to return, question why he raised alarm when there was no harm or touched it inappropriately.
Sub-Inspector A P Nimgire from Police Wakad said, “Chains and cellphones are collectively worth RS25,000.” Nimgire said the woman got off a private bus a few meters in front of the trial, near Phata Kalkalewadi after traveling to the city from the place of origin in the Sangli district.
“When he started walking home, the two men came from the opposite side on a motorcycle and stopped nearby,” he said.
Nimgire said one of them asked the woman if she needed help.
“When the woman said she did not, she took her gold chain and continued.
There was no one on the road.
When the woman raised the alarm, the duo returned.
The man who had grabbed the chain asked him why he got a scoring when he didn’t make a mistake.

Nimgire said the woman came home and filed a police complaint in the afternoon.
