Patna: Five construction workers from Bihar were killed and five others were injured after steel structures fainted at the location of lack of construction in the Shastrinagar area of the Yerwada area on Thursday night.
All five died workers were native residents of Barsoi subdivision under Kathar Bihar Regency.
Revealing deep condolences over the death of the Katihar worker at Pune, Bihar CM Nith Kumar on Friday announced the former Gratia Hospital Grant RS 2 Lakh to Kin next from each of the five deceased workers from the CM relief fund.
CM also announced RS 50,000 payments to each person who was injured from Bihar and prayed for their quick recovery.
“Immediately after the death of the death of five Bihar workers reached here, the State Administration surged into action and asked the Administration of Katihar Regency to coordinate with Pune Administration to bring the body of the people who died,” said a senior official of the Bihar House Department to Ti on Friday.
People who have died have been identified as Sahil Mohammad, (original Azamnagar Belwa Village), Mohammad Samir (Baghaura, Azamnagar), Mobid Alam (Choundi, Barsain), Mazruf Hussain (Dhachana, Barsoi) and Tajib Alam (Bhai Nagar, Bali – Belaun), said the official.
Contacted by telephone, Magistrate District Katihar Udayan Mishra said he had come into contact with Pune administrative officials and they made all the preparations needed to send bodies.
“There are five coffins, and they have two choices to send bodies – either flights or ambulants.
Because there are no direct flights from Pune to Bagdogra Airport (Siliguri), Pune officials are looking for options to send coffins by air from Mumbai airport to Bagdogra.
If the first option does not materialize, the coffin will be sent to the ambulance through the road, “said DM to Ti by telephone.
