CALANGUTE: Two tourists from Pune died after their car, they traveled in reducing the outskirts in the Arpora on Monday morning.
Rivulet is located along the internal road that connects the Arpora and Baga.
Pilerne firefighting officials received a call at 5.30 in the morning telling them about the accident, after they rushed to the place in Sankhwadi, Arpora.
Fire Personnel said that the car was upside down and Rivulet was in high tide.
“We broke the window and took out the bodies and handed them to Anjuna police.
It seems they can’t open the window after they fall to Rivulet,” said API official.
The couple was identified as Shubham Bhedge, 28, and Ishwari Deshpande, 25.
The couple learned to come to Goa on a trip last Wednesday, Anjuna Psi Akshay Parsekar to Ti.
Officials said that it was unknown where the couple came from or where they left.
They added that the car had a Maharashtra registration plate, showing that they had come down from Pune.
The car was secured with a rope and then taken from water by the police, with the help of a crane.
The bodies were taken to Goa Medical College, Bambolim, for Post-Mortem, which will be held on Tuesday after their family members arrived.
