Pune: Pregnant women to get a separate VAX center

Pune: Pregnant women in the district are likely to be offered a separate Covid-19 vaccination center when the drive for them starting in the next two to three days, officials said on Saturday.
“We are planning a separate vaccination center for pregnant women to avoid mixing with the crowd.
A separate hub will also increase the ease of vaccination for this group,” said Dr.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle.
Pregnant women with Covid-19 infection at increased risk of premature birth and other adverse results, including higher opportunities for neonatal morbidity.
Public health experts say that they must be offered an exclusive covid vaccination center, to keep them away from the crowds.
District Pune has almost 800 vaccination centers.
Authorities say they plan to set aside at least five Civic-Run sites within PMC and three limits in PCMC for pregnant women.
Pune rustic may get almost 10 centers.
“Most likely the Antenatal Center will be chosen to vaccinate this group.
Most women come to these centers for prenatal examinations.
So the hub is ideal for their covid vaccination,” Dishmukh said.
Of the 800 district vaccine sites, almost 350 are in the PMC area.
PCMC has 200 and the rest in Pune rustic.
“We plan to have a higher number of centers for pregnant women in Pune Rural because of the more diverse populations in the region.
Women who visit these centers will be notified of the benefits of vaccination along with information about general side effects that they can expect,” Add Deshmukh.
Health care workers in the Antenatal centers will also be trained to advise pregnant women.
Officials added that the registration protocol and the generation of certificates would remain the same for this group as a general population.
Dr.
Sanjay Patil, Chair of the Indian Hospital Board, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Pune, said, “Since the United States said it was okay to give a pregnant woman Vaksin Covid, there had been Spurt in the investigation of the city’s gynecologists” from pregnant women.
