Pune: A violation was registered against the Spiritual Leader of Bandya Tatya Karadkar for alleged comments on the NCP leader Supriya Sule and Pankaja Munde BJP during agitation in Satara Maharashtra District, police said on Friday.
Karadkar on Thursday protested against the state government’s decision to allow sales of wine in supermarkets and grocery stores.
During agitation, the spiritual leader allegedly made several statements about Sule and Munde, said an official from Police Satara.
The police initially registered a case against Karadkar and others for violating Covid-19 norms during protests on Thursday, he said.
However, another violation under Section 509 (Word, the movement or law intended to insult the simplicity of a woman) was also registered against a spiritual leader for his statement about the two politicians, the official said.
“On Thursday, we have ordered Karadkar and others under Section 144 of the CRPC and disaster management laws.
After complaints from several women on Friday, other cases are registered against it,” he said.
The recovery violation, the official said, added that as part of an investigation, Karadkar would be called to give a statement.
