Pune: A eight-year-old girl was killed on Thursday morning after being hit by a tanker at Somanase near Talegaon Dabhade.
Police Talegaon Dabhade has identified the victim as Shraverti Gangawane from Sanket Vihar Society, which is located in Somanase.
Tanker driver Santosk Temgire (40) from Dehu Road was arrested, confirming the police.
An officer from Police Dabhade Talegaon said Shraverti had gone to the grocery store next to his house around 9 in the morning.
“While returning home, he was hit by a tanker and was under the wheels,” he said, adding that Shraverti was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where he was said to be killed by a doctor.
