Pune: A man ridden by a 42-year-old debt suspected of killing his sick mother and then died of suicide at Pune Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.
The man, identified as Fartade Ganesh, in the ‘suicide note’ which was intended through whatsapp to relative, stated that he suffered a big loss in the stock market, which encouraged him to take extreme steps, they said.
The incident occurred on the night of Friday-Saturday intervention in the Dhanakwadi area.
The man gave a “heavy dose” of the medicine to his 76-year-old mother who was ill in an effort to kill him in their home.
However, when he did not die, he allegedly smothered him to death with a plastic bag, said Senior Police Supervisor Sahakar Nagar Yunus Mulani.
“After putting up his mother, the man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself,” said the official.
Before taking extreme steps, the man sent a ‘suicide note’ to his cousin at Whatsapp.
Cousin warned the police, who rushed to the man’s residence and found him and his mother died, said the official.
“In a suicide note, the man stated that he took extreme steps because he suffered a big loss in the stock market because he was shaken under debt.
He also mentioned about killing his mother, he wanted to release him about his illness,” the official said.
