Pune: acting on input by the Military Intelligence Unit of the Southern Southern command, Police Sangvi arrested three people on charges of deceiving four people promising they helped to secure vehicle mechanical work in the border road organization (bro).
Bro is the executive power of road construction ministry defense that provides support to and is part of the Indian armed forces.
The trio captured is EX-SATISH SATISHANE (40) from AUNDH, Shreeram Kadam (55) of Dhayari, and their agent Akshay Wankhede (23) from Akola District.
“Kadam, who retired from Bro, runs a pre-recruitment training center.
Police Probe revealed that in the last inspection held for vehicle mechanical posts on Bro, around 36 candidates from the KADAM academy were chosen,” Senior Inspector Sunil Tonape from Police Sangvi told toi.
Tonape said, “Police Commissioner Pimpri Chinchwad Krishna Prakash has made a special (sit) investigation team to investigate this case.” The 23-year-old mechanic working with Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) in Amaravati has filed a complaint to Police Sangvi.
The complainant, who did not want to reveal his identity, told Tii, “he came into contact with the suspect with his friend.
The suspect has promised to help secure work on Bro, and demand money from him.
When we went to meet them at Rakshak Chowk in Aundh, the police trapped them.
“Sub-Inspector Mininath Varude, who is investigating this case, said,” The suspects were arrested by red-handed receiving money from four candidates.
We have recovered RS70,000 from the place.
“Varude said during the cadeshate house, the police had recovered RS2 Lakh, two laptops, cellphones and some important documents, Varude said.
Varude said the Dahane was retired Lance up and run a grocery store in the Aundh camp.
“Wankhede is a candidate.
Dahane and Wankhede are used to identify candidates for Kadam,” Varude said.
The police probe revealed that Kadam had taken RS5 Lakh from each candidate.
“We investigate whether there are people who are involved in the racket too,” Tonape said.
