Chandigarh: Minister of Punjab Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, condemn the tragic incident of Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, has asked BJP to respect democratic values rather than doing the government of the human coercion (Danda Raj) to hamper the voices of people.
The head of the Government of Congress in Punjab also held a mute protest in front of the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Samark Bhawan on Tuesday, along with the cabinet and his party colleagues.
Those who gathered to decide not to give up on “the excess of the BJP government in the middle and in other states to intimidate people by releasing terrorism”.
Channi, while equating the Lakhimpur Kheri incident with Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, said the incident was recently “planned previously to deliberately destroy innocent farmers who peacefully protested agricultural law”.
He attacked the BJP government at Uttar Pradesh to hold the Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi, who had planned to meet with the victim’s family at Lakhimpur Kheri to express solidarity with them in the time of sadness.
