Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday approved the government’s proposal for the workplace shutdown for a week in early November to fight a worrying increase in Covid-19 cases and death.
Speaking at a television meeting with government officials, Putin said this period, starting October 30 to November 7, it could begin earlier or expanded to certain regions.
The authorities throughout the country have moved to curb the spread of the virus, reflecting a sense of urgency that developed when they faced a widespread public reluctance to be injected with a sputnik V vaccine made by Russia.
