Unknown tests of Ludhiana: Private laboratories, nursing homes and small hospitals cannot declare a positive bloody broken.
The Ludhiana Health Department has released their instructions to send samples of alleged patients to civil hospitals and only after retesting, a person will be declared positive.
The decision was taken after arriving at the knowledge of health officials that some laboratories and nursing homes used unknown tests.
Chief Ludhiana Medical Officer SP Singh said, “Some small hospitals, nursing homes, and private laboratories carry out a fast antigen test, which is not recognized by the health department to confirm the Dengue case.
These tests create unnecessary panic.
The department only agreed Elisa’s test for it.
“” All private laboratories, nursing homes and hospitals that do antigen tests have been directed to send samples to a civil hospital for re-testing, after that the Ministry of Health will declare a positive dengue patient, “CMO added.
Health workers say leading hospitals, such as Dairand Medical College and Hospital and Christian Medical College and Hospital, are doing Elisa tests, so they are not required to send samples for re-testing.
