Bengaluru: In line with government ambitions to encourage private companies in the space sector, industrial activities are increasing with two main memoranda understanding, one lab opening in just one week, while other companies are ready to launch their first satellite.
Two Startup Space, Skyroot and Agnikul – Both Building Rockets / Launch Vehicle – have signed an important agreement with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) which will enable them to get access to space agencies and expertise on system development and testing systems, while Bellatrix Aerospace opens New lab.
The three developments occurred between September 11 and 17.
While the first two startups, SkyRoot and Agnikul were based in Hyderabad and Chennai, Bellatrix based on Bengaluru and the fourth company, Pixxel, also from Bengaluru, everything was set to launch the first satellite on the PSLV.
Two mice, in accordance with the Department of Space (DOS), will enable access to skyroot and agnikul to the facilities and expertise of ISRO on the development and testing of the space / space launch vehicle system.
Both of them have become the first company to sign such an agreement with ISRO, which, as part of the reform initiated by the center, will see more sharing of expertise and infrastructure in the future.
The MoU will enable the company to perform several tests and access facilities in various ISRO centers for testing and qualifications.
Agnikul can test its 3D Semi-Cryo 3D engine and other systems, while skyroot will test the system as part of the launch vehicle development program.
K Sivan, Secretary, Dos, told TII earlier this week: “This agreement has been prepared after a careful examination of what these companies do.
This is only the beginning and we will see more from private companies in the coming months.” Sivan also inaugurates the Labor Propulsion that is personally funded by Bellatrix which has in-house facilities for the development and testing of electrical and green chemical propulsion technology.
Advanced facilities that accommodate equipment such as integrated thermal vacuum test facilities, catalytic reactors, propellant preparation facilities, special high-temperature coating facilities, etc.
Pawan Goenka, chairman, national space promotion and national authorization center (in- space), respecting the readiness of Isro to share infrastructure and technology, said: “Some first agreements are always important.
I’m sure this will open the way for more.” Besides that, Pixxel, which will launch the first Indian Indian Earth Imaging Satellite in February but takes satellites back to the problem of the software quoted by the lab, now ready to be launched.
A senior official from New Space India Limited (NSIL) confirmed this to Toi, and said: “Pixxel satellites will be launched on the PSLV mission after the next.
It will go through commercial arrangements.” Pixxel, who wants to launch a satellite constellation to provide satellite imagery Available for various applications, initially decided to launch from Russia, but signed an agreement to be launched on PSLV on December 2020.
