Kanpur: PIYUSH JAIN – Perfume businessman who hoard RS 284 Crore – is used to ride a scooter and travel with old four wheels.
Two four-wheeled – a Toyota Qualis and Maruti – found parking outside his home in Kanpur.
Kanpur businessman Piyush Jain was arrested after RS 300 Crore Cash Haulaccording to the locals, every time Piyush Jain visited his ancestral home in the Chhipaiti area in Kannauj, he could be seen driving a scooter Bajaj Priya’s duration.
He used to live a very simple life, they said.
He also avoid using upscale cars and used to drive in old vehicles to avoid attention.
Jain learned the art of making a perfume compound from his father, who was a chemist.
He started a perfume business in Kanpur, and extended to other parts of the country in the last 20 years.
He now has a growing business in Mumbai and Gujarat.
A GST official, meanwhile, said that the Directorate of Income Intelligence was warned as 23 kg of gold and 600 kg of sandalwood oil which had a market value around Rs 6 Crore, hidden in the basement, confiscated from the Jain and Factory Office Office.
“When the restored gold has a foreign sign, DRI will be notified of the same thing so that the required investigation can be done,” he said.
“Jain when questionable, however, admitted that the restored cash from the housing area was related to the sale of goods without GST payment,” he said.
Previously, Jain had stated before the central agent that he bought such cash by selling 400 kg of ancestral gold.
Piyush Jain sent to the 14-day judicial guard, which allegedly save cash in RS 284 Crore at various premises, sent to prison in a 14-day judicial detention by the Kanpur court Remand Judge where he was produced by the Directorate General of the GST Intelligence Team (DGGI) on Monday .
Piyush has been captured under section 132 of the CGST law.
Hakim Remand, Yogita Kumar, in order to observe that the application of the detention of conjudes transferred by senior intelligence officers DGGI Zonal Unit Ahmedabad was permitted and objected to detention.
Previously, the Senior Intelligence Officer DGGI Zonal Unit, Ahmedabad had transferred the application before the detention court and pleaded that the alleged defendant should not be guaranteed until the investigation calculation did not end and could be returned to Judicial detention.
