Thiruvananthapuram: City Police have made more than 200 preventive detensions and do more than 300 attacks as far as part of the Special Drive operation that is ongoing Kaval to examine criminal activities.
Operation Kaval is a special drive launched throughout the state on December 17 after recent political killings and gangland murder reported from various parts of the country.
Balramkumar City Police Commissioner Upadhyay said that the police did 310 raids until Tuesday.
“A total of 238 people with criminal antesedensens were detained as part of preventive detention.
All 238 of these individuals were involved in crimes reported in the past and had the possibility of committing more evil and hence preventive detention steps began against them,” Commissioner said.
A special team led by Commissioner City Sheen Tharayil Narcotics Assistant has prepared a well-known criminal list, including binding of GOT and drugs.
Based on this list, the police examined the existence and recent activities of 774 individuals.
Among them, 12 was found to be active in evil and hence actions under the prevention law of Kerala’s antisocial activities (if they) began against them.
Recommendations are forwarded to the district collector to hold them under what is precautions.
In addition, the police arrested 169 people who were desirable by the court.
