Mumbai: Even when the rainfall this season in Mumbai crossed a 3,000 mm mark on Monday night, the IMD issued a prediction that showed that more rain could be expected on Tuesday.
The red warning has been issued for all districts in MMR, namely Palghar, Thane and Raigad, showing a flashy storm, strong winds and very heavy rain in isolated places.
Mumbai, meanwhile, issued an orange warning that showed a storm with lightning, strong winds and very heavy rain in isolated places on Tuesday, followed by a yellow warning on Wednesday (weight until the rain isolated).
On Monday, several parts of the city recorded several rain spells, with the recording of IMD Santacruz recording 39 mm of rain in nine hours ending at 5:30 in the afternoon.
In comparison, in the previous 24 hours ended 8.30 in the morning on Monday, Santacruz had recorded 6.8 mm rain.
Monday’s rainfall brought the total precipitation of the season to 3036.3 mm of rain so far, in accordance with the data of IMD Santacruz.
This is the third year in a row so that Mumbai’s rain has crossed 3,000-marks.
Last year, around this time, rainfall had touched 3,681 mm.
In 2019, this city has received 3,635.5 mm at this time.
