Rain fills the dam, lake leaves in a series

Coimbatore: The day after the rain pounded the district, he received a sporadic shower on Sunday, when the waterbodies were in the Spate.

Water level in the Sholalayan Dam in Valparai, where the highest rainfall was recorded in the district on Saturday, also touched a full level of reservoir 160 feet.

Officials said almost all water waterbodies in the district have maintained high water levels over the past few months, because of the excessive rainfall this year.
While the district generally recorded light shower throughout the day, some parts such as Valparai received heavy rain.
The Kolagal River in Valparai is full and so is the Noyyal River and other water down the hill.
Check the dam at Chithiraichavadi, Puttuvikki and Sunnambukalvai overflowing and the flow of water to the lake continues to increase.
However, the public is limited to visiting a Dam check as a precautionary measure.
Other tourist attractions such as Kovai Kutradaam are also closed to the public.
Officials said the flow of water in Noyyal had soared over the past two days, due to heavy rain.

Meanwhile, City Corporation took efforts to pump water which stagnates in underpasses in the city.
An official said they had prepared a disaster management team to overcome emergency situations, if any.
