MADRID: Authorities in Southern Spain said that the rain had helped control large fires that damaged 7,800 hectares (19,200 hectares) of land although more than five days of intense firefighting work by land and air.
Juan Manuel Moreno, President of the Andalusian region, said in a tweet on Tuesday that “the rain which has fallen for several hours has become the best ally of the intense and awesome crew work.” But he said that the fire at Sierra shredded, the mountains close to tourism-magnetic Costa del Sol, did not end and it worked to fully extinguish complex fires.
Authorities said they had a reason to believe that combustion was behind the fire, which began in various hotspots on Wednesday in the area which was said by unique environmental lovers.
The Spanish Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation.
The fire virulence, fanning high temperatures and strong winds, surprising authority, with veteran forestry technicians who describe it as “hungry monsters” who reacted even though hundreds of firefighters, soldiers, and dozens of airline aircraft were deployed to the area.
The 44-year-old firefighter died on Thursday while trying to extinguish the fire.
About 2,600 residents have been evacuated, but most of them have returned to their homes on Tuesday morning, said regional fire fighting services, planning Infoca.
Experts with agencies have said that Sierra Severe Wildfire will establish a precedent as the first Mega API to be sealed by Spain as a result of the planet of heating and progressive neglect of rural areas.
Official data shows that forest fires are getting bigger in Spain.
In the first eight months of 2021, they consumed more forest land – 75,000 hectares or 186,000 hectares – from the average over the past decade.
