Jaipur: In a joint operation, the CB-CB Jaipur wing along with the police Jalore arrested 45 people to gamble at a hotel in the city of Jalore on Sunday.
The police have also confiscated the RS 34.55 Lakh from the ownership of the gambler they claim the largest ever seizure in the case of gambling.
The team has also confiscated 20 vehicles used by gamblers.
Five gamblers constantly suffered injuries in an effort to escape from the hotel.
With the additional instructions for the Director General (Crime) Ravi Prakash Meharda, the CID-CB team made a watch on the activities of the people involved in gambling.
“We get input that some people from Gujarat come to Jalore to gamble.
Many hotels in Jalore facilitate these gamblers with excessive.
Thus, based on specific inputs, our team with local police raided Amar Palace Hotel and found that some people were gambling with Conventional ways with dice, numbers, and other things, “said Pushpendra Singh, police deputy supervisor, CIDCB, who led the operation, while talking to Ti by telephone on Sunday.
Singh added that after witnessing the presence of a heavy police, the gamblers began to escape.
The police said that all of these gamblers came from Gujarat.
“This is a trend in the districts that are close to Gujarat where people come on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to drink and gamble.
Many other areas in Jalore and Sirohi districts are on our radar for future actions,” said Singh “We managed to capture 45.
We managed to catch 45 people to gamble and have won almost Rs 34.50 lakh in RS 500 denominations and RS 100 notes from gamblers’ ownership.
All money is collected as a bet with various gamblers and put in a bucket,” Suryaveer Singh Rathore said, deputy police supervisor, who was part of the operation.
Meanwhile, four gamblers who tried to jump down from the stairs constantly injured.
